Once the story is over, fans who crave more can dive into the game's online multiplayer mode. Playing as either a cop or a criminal choose from five game modes, many of which are new to the Battlefield series. Standout game modes include Heist, where criminals must break into and successfully loot a vault, and Blood Money, where both the cops and criminals fight over a crate of cash in the center of the map. The multiplayer maps change during the course of gameplay as a result of player damage, meaning that the best players will be the ones who can quickly adapt to new situations.
